I have been a bookkeeper since 2001, becoming level 3 qualified and ICB certified in 2008. I originally set up Sally Ferguson Bookkeeping, which is the name my licence is held under, and now trade as Well Kept Books. I am a member of the Sage Accountants Club, a Xero Partner, and in 2025 became an HMRC Tax Agent, fully authorised for PAYE, CIS, Making Tax Digital for VAT, and now MTD for ITSA.

I started my career in finance helping set up the family construction business back in 2001, and after deciding to go out on my own and set up my own business, I qualified in 2008 and since I have helped numerous small businesses grow from small acorns to pretty substantial-sized businesses where they have often outgrown me! 

I have vast experience in many different types of industries. I love helping all types of businesses, from small sole traders and start-ups grow their businesses from a small side hustle to a flourishing entity, and then those who have created a successful business and want to keep it that way. 

They want their accounts’ ship in order and keep the HMRC wolves from the door! Although not my favourite pastime, I have helped many clients through the dreaded HMRC compliance inspections! 

As a qualified, highly experienced bookkeeper, I take pride in my careful diligence and the accuracy of my work, and so when the dreaded brown envelope occasionally drops on your doormat, for me it’s just an annoyance; not panic stations!
